Launchpad is London Met’s flagship business start-up programme. Delivered part-time over 10 weeks, it gives passionate students and graduates the knowledge, tools and support needed to test their idea and take it to the next level.
And we’ve just begun with this summer’s cohort! For the short-listed group – it’ll be a full-on 10 weeks. The group will test out their ideas, gaining some great feedback as they go.
Here’s what some of our participants had to say about the programme so far.
Valentina Terziva, team member of Raw Emotion, raw desserts
“We have always wanted to start our own business, and we had already been working on developing a food product, but we needed an opportunity to test our idea in the market.”
Farzana Khan from Waterless Carwash
“It’s really good to meet entrepreneurs and we get to ask them our questions, and it really gives you the confidence to believe that if they could do it, you can do it too.”
Catherine Hart from Cat Hart Jewellery
“The Launchpad Programme is a really good starting point. It really gives you a good idea of where you are. There’s a lot of emphasis on market research, which is really useful because it’s important to make sure that your idea is viable, and the work you put in is worthwhile.”
Kiki Tang, from Kiki Tang Jewellery
“I am very creative, but I don’t know much about business, especially in the UK. The Launchpad has given me a good platform to understand my customers and their needs.”
Lorraine Gallagher from Sea the Potential
”When you have an idea you can get really caught up in how amazing it is, and not care about what anybody else thinks, but it is really important to talk about your idea, and get feedback.”
For anyone who missed out on applying for the Summer Launchpad – we still have a great programme of events coming up this year, including evening start-up workshops, a Creative Freelance bootcamp, a Fashion and Beauty Business bootcamp, and opportunities for those with Food businesses! Be the first to find out about these events by signing up to our mailing list.
