Wilson // Palmer love good design, fine craft and carefully executed details. This new business is a collaboration between Thomas Wilson and Herbert Palmer who both graduated from BA Furniture and Product Design at London Metropolitan University in 2015. Herb first started working with support from Accelerator when he took part in the Christmas Market project in his final year, where his incense burners were a great success. He made £460 in one day! Since then he has been selling his work on online retail site gardenofbabylon to great success.
On graduating Herb partnered with Thom to enter Launchpad, Accelerator’s start-up programme for London Met graduates. During the 10-week programme the pair developed their business working on communicating their values and presenting what they do as a partnership and focused on researching and then approaching customers.
They went on to win a place as part of the Accelerator’s Hatchery programme which includes monthly mentoring from the Accelerator team.  They are now working on their business from their studio, Blackhorse Road in East London – the whole process of making their pieces takes place under one roof – which means that they are involved in the process from the beginning to the end (designing and making).
The pair have been busy working on various commercial and residential projects. Recently they made solid oak tables resting on a cast iron pedestal for Soho restaurant Balans they have also produced a series of tables for the Accelerator office!
Wilson // Palmer now offer a growing range of furniture and work with individuals and businesses on a commission basis. Watch this space for news of more exciting commissions and products coming from this London Met grad partnership!
