40 Big Idea Challenge semi-finalists joined us at Accelerator yesterday for the next step in the competition; the Bootcamp Day!

The entries for the Big Idea Challenge has once again blown us away, having uncovered a treasure trove of amazing ideas and the passionate people behind them. Across the three categories, business, social impact and creative we received over 200 entries from London Met students, graduates and staff this year! After reading through each and every application, discussing the ideas and whittling them down, we had our 40 semi-finalists!

Meeting them all yesterday, hearing them talk about their ideas was fantastic! The whole group was excited to find out more and eager to win! After a morning indoors giving everyone an overview of the competition, next steps, a chance to share and talk about their idea and a very fun game of human bingo we headed outside into the sunshine! We took a short walk just up the road to the Geffrye Museum and ran our pitch practice and feedback sessions in the front gardens; a popular open green space in busy inner-city Shoreditch bordered by magnificent 100-year-old trees.

We can’t wait to see their 60-second pitches next Tuesday!
