We once again joined forces with London Met’s Faculty of Life Sciences and Computing to host this year’s Global Game Jam, a competition challenging participants to design, develop, create and test a new game – using the 2018 theme of ‘Transmission’.

The event is run globally across different local communities, with the theme being revealed at 5pm in each respective time zone on the starting day. Starting on at 5pm, 26 January and finishing at 5pm on 28 January participants had just 48 hours to create their game. With over 40 participants attending the event, everyone split into smaller teams of three or four to create and submit their game.

Fiona French, Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing and course leader for BSc Computer Games Programming, said, “The programmers learned how to use a new development environment, they all had a lot of fun and were exhausted by the end!”

9 games were created over the weekend, which you can download and play here on the Global Jam website.
