Big Idea School and College Bootcamp Day 2020

On Monday 2 March, Accelerator ran the Big Idea Challenge for 18 Schools and Colleges from across London at The Natwest Bishopsgate Conference Centre.

Working alongside the London Met Schools and Colleges Outreach team since September to facilitate ideation workshops, the Bootcamp day offers students the chance to come together, receive mentorship from business founders and learn how to pitch thier business idea.

Our amazing mentors spent the whole day helping students refine their business ideas, create the content of their pitch and offered invaluable feedback while they practiced for the final pitches on stage at the end of the day.

We invited Ginny Radmall, Senior Coach from Amplify along to run coaching sessions to teach the students how to effectively pitch on stage, using a combination of vocal exercises and presentation techniques.

It is always fantastic to see the students go from starting the day feeling nervous, to standing on stage in front of the whole room confidently present their pitches.

Big Idea Peoples Choice

Over the last week since the Bootcamp day students have spent time practicing and further refining thier pitches ready for the filming stage of the competition. After filming the pitches we put them on the bigideachallenge.co website where we run the voting round to find the Peoples Choice category winner of the competition.

Filming began on Monday 9 March and the voting will open towards the end of March. We can’t wait to see their final pitches and look forward to the Big Idea Challenge awards night in May.
